Meet Norm
Hi, my name is Norm.
I’m an Authorised Marriage Celebrant, a musician and a corporate facilitator. I’m also a husband and a dad.
I decided to become a marriage celebrant after being offered the opportunity to MC a number of weddings, and the bug bit. I loved the performance aspect, leaning on my skills as a Workplace Trainer and facilitator. I loved working with the venue, the guests, the band and the caterers on the night to keep things moving along like they should for the newly married couple.
But more than this, I loved the sense of joy I felt from being part of one of the most special days in the lives of two people. It was more heartwarming and fulfilling than I could’ve imagined. And people laughed at my jokes too, which always helps!
Having played live music in various settings, I’ve had a stage-side view of what great celebrants do, and I wanted to do it myself. After my own wedding, I know first-hand how important it is to have the right celebrant keeping it relaxed, light and fun, whilst delivering a professional ceremony.

When the debate about marriage equality was happening, I found myself passionately defending the right for all people, regardless of who they’re in love with, to commit to their partner in the most important and significant way. I am a proud supporter of marriage equality in Australia.
And so, after a little encouragement from my wife, some friends and a celebrant in the family who married my wife and myself, I decided to become an Authorised Marriage Celebrant.
As a celebrant, it’s my mission to make a couple’s marriage journey together as easy, as fun, as light-hearted or as serious as they want it to be, to make their day perfect.
Getting married can be a whole lot of organising and time and planning, not to mention the stress of getting it all right. It’s my job to make some of that a little bit easier, and I’ll never tire of striving for perfection. Quality matters; the satisfaction of my couple matters; and so I’m always aiming for it.
And being a dad… well that’s the most amazing thing ever. Between my wife and our little boy, there’s no greater joy in the world than watching him grow and learn, find his feet and find the nearest mobile phone or remote control. That’s the sort of joy that comes from being in a family, and it’s the joy I want to share with my couples on their special day; their wedding day.
